It will be a weekend full of events for the padel NextGen, with young players taking part in five CUPRA FIP Tour tournaments across three continents. The young talents will showcase their skills in Houten (Netherlands), Alicante (Spain), Cittanova (Italy), Jakarta (Indonesia) and Iquique (Chile).
The Dutch event will feature six draws: four men’s categories (Under 12, 14, 16 and 18) and two women’s categories (Under 16 and 18). In the oldest boys’ category, the registered pairs include Filip Sterner-Stan Hunt, Andrew Dunn-Lenn Stroehl and Daan Jans-Junior Brydolf. In the same girls’ category, the participating pairs include sisters Anshika Rajagopal and Rishita Rajagopal. The matches of the FIP Promises Houten will be played at the SportClub Houten venue.
In Spain, there will be eight draws, evenly divided between boys and girls. Javi Bolumar Orti and Samu Rivas lead the Under 18 draw. They are among the favourites for the title, but to claim victory they will have to overcome competitive pairs such as Joa Takala-Alvaro Moreno Herrera and Andrea Ortuno De Pablo-Martin Araguete Sales. In the same girls’ age category, the No.1 seeds are Daniela Valiente Escrich-Paula Gil Aguilar. In the men’s Under 16 category of the FIP Promises Trofeo Pitu Losada, there are Pedro Gomes and Joao Afonso Simoes.
The Global Padel Arena in Cittanova will host the FIP Promises Globo Padel Reggio Calabria, where the men’s NextGen players will compete for the Under 14, 16 and 18 titles. Among the pairs entered in the latter category are Luca Maria Laguzza-Alessandro Pirrotta, Gabriele Forti-Lorenzo Alessi and Gabriele Laurino-Stefano Indomenico.
From Europe to South America. The FIP Promises in Iquique will also feature a full schedule of matches. Eight draws will be held: Under 12, 14, 16 and 18 in both the men’s and women’s categories. In the oldest age category, the pairs competing include Alonso Villavicencio Mancilla-Tomas Guzman and Tomas Diaz Silva-Alonso Palominos Romero. In the girls’ Under 18 category, the players in focus include Esperanza Lamatta and Julieta Antonia Escaloneta Diaz.
The Asian event will take place in Jakarta, Indonesia. Leading the boys’ Under 18 draw is the duo formed by Arnur Tursynkhan-Islam Duissengazin. Their main rivals include Sanzhar Juassov-Timur Akhmetov and Rafael Jose Soesilo-Hanief Arazi. The No.1 seeds in the girls’ Under 14 category are Zara Settimi-Chikage Yasuda. All matches will be played at the ‘Rana Grounds Mampang’.
