David Gala and Enzo Jensen, No. 31 and No. 50 in the FIP Ranking, arrive at the FIP Silver Alcala De Guadaíra in Spain with the aim of lifting another trophy on the CUPRA FIP Tour. The pair most recently claimed the title at the FIP Silver in Leiria, Portugal, at the beginning of May. Their strong form this season was also confirmed by their run to the final of the FIP Platinum Albania in Tirana, where they were defeated by Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas. In their bid for the title in Spain, Gala and Jensen could face a pair that has already beaten them this year in the final of the FIP Bronze Cyprus II: Alvaro Montiel and Flavio Abbate. The latter have won four titles together in 2026: in Cyprus, in addition to the title already mentioned, they also claimed another FIP Bronze and a FIP Silver title. In February, they won the FIP Bronze in Agadir. Also among the leading contenders at this event are Gustavo Nunes and Tonet Sans, as well as the recent winners of the FIP Silver in Narbonne, France, Marcos Gonzalez Blanco and Martin Abud.
In the women’s draw, the top seeds Giorgia Marchetti and Lara Arruabarrena, No. 57 and No. 51 in the FIP Ranking respectively, are the favourites to claim the title. Arruabarrena will be aiming for her second title of the season in Spain after winning the FIP Bronze Astorga at the end of June. Marchetti reached the final of the FIP Gold Shanghai in China in mid-June alongside Marta Borrero. Borrero will also compete in Alcala De Guadaíra, partnering Caterina Baldi. Two other pairs to watch are Lea Godallier and Daiara Valenzuela, recent winners of the FIP Silver in Narbonne, and Claudia Escacena and Patri Martinez, who together won the FIP Silver Giulianova and the FIP Bronze Castellon in 2026.
